Thanks for sharing and responding. One other question. Are their indications that I could note that might indicate that someone doesnt feel comfortable with direct eye contact and then what is an alternative with similar impact but would not be offensive. Just wondering what your perspective on that is. I could easily misread the signs and think the issue is something else.

Eye Contact and culture

The course mentioned the issue of culture and eye contact. I was just wondering if anyone was aware of specific cultures that find eye contact offensive and if you have come across it in class, how did you know and how to prevent an attempt to connect with the students from being perceived as offensive or disrespectful ?
