Be careful with deciding to give extra credit. Make sure that the grading is fair for all students. Keep grades and records confidential. Keep a record of your grading system and methods. Always review with students the requirements of how to earn their grades. Have a discussion in the beginning about missed/late assignments and test retaking. Post student's grades as soon as possible. It is about setting the right expectations in the beginning

It is helpful to know where the students are knowledge-wise for the class I will be instructing. Pay attention to the students to know if there should be a shift in material and delivery to gain back engagement. Be aware of material overload and have a plan B available.

Using PP will be helpful in students staying focused. They can be used as interactive models to help present information. When I present the information on the Whiteboard, I need to be aware of where I am standing so I am not blocking information. Give students a chance to take notes as I am giving the information and make sure I am connecting the information together.

Knowing the type of instructor I want to be vs the instructor I am will help me perfect my craft and find my niche. Always be prepared and organized for your class. Stay personable, build rapport with my class and admit when I am wrong then move on. Stay ready for change and understand the reason why I chose to become an instructor in the first place.

I learned that are different kinds of testing. It is important to use the correct testing for the right material since different methods of testing target different knowledge skills. This helps reduce the confusion among students. this was a very informative topic.

Is it equally important to test students' knowledge is through non-graded assessments. I keep in mind that students have test anxiety and non-graded assessments not only test their knowledge but also build confidence and the students can see how much they have truly retained without added pressure. When it is test time, their anxiety level may have decreased. It also gives me an idea of what they have learned and what needs attention.

I am new to instructing and I am learning a lot from the training. I am excited to know that I am already using a lot of these techniques. I keep in mind that I was once a student myself and think about what helped me relate more to the lessons. This is definitely that needs constant revising. I am glad to know it is just not the questions asked but how the questions are asked will keep the students engaged.

The course teaches how to incorporate and identify different learning characteristics.  I can effectively deliver a great learning experience that will help all my students be successful in learning the material and not just a percentage by understanding how they learn and access the best delivery while still keeping time management to the curriculum. I can incorporate many styles of learning on the same topic at the same time.
