Mostly female and Gen Y students. Every now and then I get a few Baby Boomers.

This is a very good question.  Everything we do in life pretty much involves team work.  If you have someone not willing to be apart a team working towards student success or any success/common goal, would that person be a good assest for the team?

As a new manager, I have found that creating an agenda and sticking to it has helped alot.  It also helps with planning the next meetings, as I already have a template to build off.

@LorenKroh :We are currently using an outside resource program called Starfish.  This is a program that helps staff better communicate with students and students with staff.  The platflorms used allow us to also use a tracking system that makes it possible  for us to take a more holistic apporach to student success rather than concentrating solely on students with classic at-risk characteristics.
