To set up the curriculum for this to happen and that it can be customized for

each student's unique learning abilities.

Not having played a single video game, I would have to learn skills to be an effective teacher utitllizing video games, as well as AI and VR techniques.

I liked the specific questions for the critical thinking for review of what they have just learned.

Plan to ask those questions on the live Zoom, to generate good discussion.

How important word choice is and expressing empathy, support and caring for the student to feel valued and included.

I have learned by experience there are times and topics, not to use technology for communication, for instance, if it is turning into a back and forth and escalating.  And the FERPA for texts is huge...so 'Hi, I sent you an email for you to check on this topic', is about all you can say in a text.

I noticed nothing mentioned spelling, which is worse and worse each year.  Their effort to even hit the spellcheck evades them.

Lots of copy and paste and we have SafeAssign that helps to check originality.

That the frequency and quality of contact with the student (client) will result in the most positve faculty/student alliance.  I have noted that a simple, short compliment goes a long way with a student and seems to supercharge their motivation.  We have a professional standard point system and when points are taken off for late homework, wearing slippers to school, etc, they really get bugged and are protective of those points.  I like being more positive, than punative, and look forward on how to get closer relationships going with students in the sterile, virtual enviornment.
