About me

Activity

Insightful!  Povided me with a historical perspective of Adult Learning Theory and the knowledge to better evaluate my students.

This course was helpful in showing me ways to figure out new ways of creating student/instructor interaction, and to make my lecture more active. I have a new set of tools in my educational toolbox to assist me in implementing critical thinking into my lecture, in order to regain student attention and participation.

Being relatively new to the Career College world, I have struggled with the development of lesson plans that would help me become a more effective educator.  As I am gaining experience I am realizing more and more the importance of staying on track and the tools such as, lesson plans, rubrics, syllabi, etc. play in staying on task and becoming more effective in the classroom.  I am also utilizing technology to the extent that finances will allow.

It is always of value to remind ourselfs of yet another diversity element in society.  It humbles me to see a student with a learning diffiuclty strive so hard to succeed and then accomplish the goal.  Great course.

I found this course to be insightful in organizing lesson plans, classroom management, and grading (including the importance of the gradebook).  In many ways I feel this would be a great course to be scheduled early on in a new instructor's orientatioin/ training.

I was enlightened by the testing tidbits for developing the various types of exams and which type or types to utilize under what situations.  Much of this course had direct application(s) to the laboratory or classroom setting.

I really enjoyed the sections regarding student motivation, as it gave me resources to reflect back on how to re-charge my enthusiasm batteries to instill/ reinforce a positive attitude regarding the students' career choice.

Great course to give an overview of educational terms, lesson planning and learning styles.  Excellent for new instructors.

Discussion Comment

This course provided a good review of classroom expectations and reinforced key concepts that I need to be reminded of on a regular basis.

I gained a better understanding of FERPA and transparency.  Coming from healthcare I learned how FERPA and HIPAA correlate to one another.  The rules and regulations are there to be followed.  The mission and values of the institution were established based on the rules and regulations.  It becomes up to the administration of the institution to develop a culture of integrity so that employees will not waiver into grey areas that could lead to negative and potentially hazardess consequences.
