I've learned that teaching is an ongoing puzzle of learning obstacles and teaching methods. With monitoring your own class, where it was boring and or what is or isn't working to the advantage of the students. How an instructor can improve to better the necessity of the student or their learning abilities. 

Preparation is definitely the key to becoming the best instructor you can be. You not only use what you learned in the field but what you learned from learning your trade and from whom.
