This course contained in-depth and up to date information about Tite IX and VAWA.  It took me time and concentration in order to understand and process the information.  The information was redundant, but I now understand it had to be so that I would retain this information.  It also gave me clarity if I were to be a bystander in a situation where I was a witness.

This module has reinforced my understanding of bystander's ways in which to use to diffuse an event.

I learned that remedial measures under the interim measures provided to the complainant can be accepted or not.  But if the complainant decides to use an offer, they can change their mind at anytime.

The Title IX Coordinator has a lot of responsibilities and should not assigned to other duties unless maybe in a small college setting.  The VAWA overlaps with Title IX because VAWA crimes are a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX if the conduct is sufficiently serious to deny or limit a student's ability to participate in or benefit from the school's education programs.

Being new to teaching, I have never made an official lesson plan.  This module gave me step- by-step directions what needs to be included in a lesson plan.  This also helps the instructor cover what the objectives are for the class.

The first impression will be a lasting impression.  Arrive early, meet students at the door, make sure the classroom is ready for instruction/lab.  Have a "to-do-list". Begin learning the student's names.

As a new instructor, I've never developed a syllabus, I now have instructions.  I am always early to work.  It makes me feel ready for class.

So far, this course has taught me that I should develop my own plan for development.  A plan can be fluid and change direction as I grow in my new teaching profession.

The adult student has more than school to worry about.  Their lives are much more complicated with other factors also needing their attention such as family, finances, medical issues.

I have learned that parents and students have special rights regarding their educational records. I have also learned that sole possession notes are not included in the educational records under FERPA.
