Activity

One of my favorite active learning techniques is asking the students to become the teacher.  I know first hand that you learn the material better when you teach it to someone else.  The way I like to do this is have every student (or small groups of students) become experts on their topic (or assigned chapter from the textbook).  Then they are responsible for teaching that concept to the rest of the class.  This creates peer learning and a new level of competence on their assigned topic.

Providing differing options for the same assignment was something I always liked because I felt like I had a choice and wasn't just being told what to do.

I learned the characteristics of a good learner.  It was enlightening to discover it means much more than just earning good grades.

I'm definitely a mix of all of the colors.

I learned that when it comes to Keirsey's Temperament...I can be all four.  I'm not sure what that means for my teaching style.
