I keep finding students who seem to be several different learning types all wrapped in one! I guess that makes sense! But it seems you need to keep mixing it up to keep them engaged!

Some good, relevant topics here.  Connecting to the students, and keeping yourself and the students motivated are huge in the success of a class!

My students ALWAYS seem motivated to learn a topic when they, or one of their classmates relates a personal experience or anecdote related to the topic we are learning.
It's always a challenge to keep moving ahead in class and not get sucked into the students technical problems...things like: tuition/academic status/registration, etc. I have to try hard to get them to take care of these issues on breaks or before/after class so it doesn't interrupt the whole class!

Just finished Ed101.  Had some good basic info that was practical.  Terms were defined and helped to set the stage to putting together the building blocks of a successful class.  Tonight I had a bunch of people "no-show" for class!  A little frustrating, but I stuck to the lesson plan and had a pretty good session with the few who showed.  Hopefully they all show up for the next class!

This section had some good practical info for that "first" day of class. In some ways, I think that some of the order for doing things is a little arbitrary however. Overall, though, this is good important info to master. In particular, I like the idea of having a checklist. I often write up a quick check list of procedural things, content/key concepts, and technical points that I want to make sure I cover before each class. This way I stay on track.
