Staying organized is important! A good record-keeping strategy is necessary. Communicating with students is important but needs to be confidential and recorded/saved.

It may be challenging to engage in conversation in the asynchronous and synchronous format. It takes effort from the instructor to fostor quality discussions, create small groups to engage in synchronous discussions, and be aware that context can be misinterpreted via chats - stay postiive and keep the constructive critisism non-threatening. 

Even though we cannot be in front of students in person, we can still represent our experience, credentials, and authority. In addition, we can also encourage the students to share about themselves in order to learn more about each student and the class as a whole.

There are a variety of ways to present the course online. The key is to be clear and consistent with the course layout and match the material to the objectives.
