Activity

As the teacher, I do prefer to act as the facilitator.  I really liked the idea of moving students into a variety of seating arrangements to encourage active talking and listenting, but know I will have to wait until COVID restrictions lift.   As the teacher, it is natural to call on prior knowledge which also supports time for clarification.  Building a classroom culture of inclusivity knowing that everyone supports you and that there is enough abundance for everyone is one of my goals.

In marketing we frequently discuss the swot analysis, but I like the idea of changing t to tweaks because sometimes threats isn't the correct measure.  I liked all of the ideas of the four corners, last concept standing, and the scenario cards.  I've heard of exit tickets, but never thought of the bell ringer as an entrance ticket.  Great concepts.

I've learned how to bring student engagement back into the classroom.  Through COVID and students returning to the classroom, restrictions have made it so students can't move about the room.  I've learned how student talk engages learners and creates often listeners.  I've engaged in group talk at AVID seminars and know how effective it is from a student persepective.
