Activity

The instructional cornerstones are expertise, empathy, enthusiasm, and clarity. I will be sure to use these strategies in my class.

"Common sense" is the key ingredient for teaching success, the concept of "learnactivity", and REFOCUS acronym.

Create an "whole-part-whole" concept of learning where the students are active participants in the learning of materials.

It is important to understand the motivations of the student in pursuing additional education. There are many factors to consider when looking at the students (background, current obstacles, and etc) but their motivation will drive them to achieve their goals.

Prepare and practice all of your demonstrations no matter how long you have performed the procedure in the past.

It is important to have the ability to motivate and keep the students involved in their own success in the class.

I learned the ABC's of writing a good objective (A for audience, B for behavior, C for condition, and D for degree). I will use this in other classes and applications as well.

As an instructor, I learned that  I should develop a "student-first" teaching approach to teaching,  that most learning occurs outside of the classroom, as well as create a personal professional  development plan to improve my skills.
