This week, I learned that soft skills are just as essential for instructors as they are in business and industry. While technical skills help us teach content, it is our communication, empathy, adaptability, professionalism, and emotional intelligence that truly shape the learning experience for adult students. Soft skills influence how we respond to challenges, how we build rapport with learners, and how we create a classroom climate that supports motivation and success.

This week, I learned that student motivation can generally be categorized into intrinsic and extrinsic motivators. Understanding the difference between the two is essential for designing learning experiences that truly engage students,especially in nursing and healthcare education, where long-term retention and internal drive matter.
