It is a daunting task as a college of nursing to understand and meet local, state, regulatory body, and federal mandates for education. In the field there have been examples of gross mis-use of student time and financial resources by institutions which have largely been identified and closed. Thiis is a good move by regulation stakeholders. Students incur a significant amount of debt with higher education in many cases. If this debt does not result in an ability to convert knowledge and skills into a productive occupation both the student and society experince a loss.

Although we are currently using an updated version of Bloom's taxonomy which using the different language remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, create the original Bloom's remains essentially valid.

The new instructor needs to be a good fit for the program and the current stable staff. Upper management needs to listen to the feedback from these staff members. There is no good to hiring an instructor who is going to quit or need to be fired half… >>>

I agree knowledge is power. Communication with a potential student must remain unbiased. While I believe 100% we have the best program for students that is not how to approach a potential student. It is important to listen first. What does this student expect from a program, what does the student need from a program. Then help the student understand if, and how the program can meet these requirements. We will likely not meet every requirement on every student's wish list for the perfect progrm. The student needs to know this in advance. Time and money are precious to a… >>>
