This module provided a very useful framework to help guide me in my next proposal.  We have a Advisory board made of many partners mentioned in the module.  However, I'm hoping to expand global education into our other college's CTE programs through a new grant.

This module helped me focus on the SAGE framework. I'm a big fan of these four, student choice, authentic experiences, global experiences, and sharing to a real audience.

It also insipired me to change an additional course learning outcome tied to the final project.

I've modified one Web Mapping course learning outcome as well as my course description to include a global perspective. One of the modules will ask students to interview an international student on our campus, and then share it out using web mapping.  The focus will be six-fold:
1) Background information about the country - where are they from, etc. map based.
2) How to meet a person for the first time from their country.  formal/infomal
3) Holiday/special customs
4) How they've adjusted to life in the U.S.A.
5) Favorite restaurants/places that help them connect with their country - map based… >>>

I'm thoroughly enjoying these modules!  I've been thinking about tying together DEI, virtual internships, and workforce in a new grant proposal.  Thanks to module 2 (had to watch) and module 3, a outline is starting to come together!

Some highlights in module 3 for me include:

  • The Global Workforce Skills Certificate example from Ivy Tech
  • Student mentioning they talked to tech support from another country
  • self-assessment
