The biggest challenge in teaching remotely during the pandemic has been the difficulty interacting with the stufents in a personal setting to find out what their individual motivations and needs are.

I have always tried to work wiht the idea that students have differtn learning styles. I incorporate material that addresses as many of the differnt styles as I can, althought it can be challeging to include kinestetic material at times.

Adult students do not just do the owrk beciase they are told. They need buy in, or need to have a reason that this class matters for them. They are much more independant and if they are not internamlly motivcated, they will not exhiit that in a class setting either. This is nothing new to me in my teaching experience.

I have heard of differnt proposed stages of development. I alwasy took from them that no one is ever "done" developing, they are all at differing stages. Yet overall they all share a similar arc of achiveing autonomy and buoiding your own set of relationships and beliefs.

I need to be more cogniznt of the life events that interact with my student;s motivation, and teach to those events
