Having a rubric allows for constructive feedback and consistency from the instructor

communication mean different thigs to different groups of people.  Older students have more experience with it.  Younger students may need a little more direction and explaination.

Students do best when they understand what is expected of them.  It is also important that teachers are clear and communicate where a student stands in clas, and what is expected of them at all times.  leaves no room for misunderstanding. 

Students do best when different forms of communication is available.  As educators we need to review and find the best form that is needed for our audience
