About me

I am currently a Massage Therapy instructor at Southeastern Institute in Charlotte, NC. I graduated from the school in 2008. Within a couple of months they hired me as a tutor. After removing that positition, I became the Media Center Specialist, substitute teacher, and continued to do some tutoring. I left to spend more time in my own business. I was asked if I was interested in an instructor position at Southeastern at the beginning of this year. So I returned.

I am passionate about my industry. I want to see professional massage therapists in abundance. I want to be part of removing false ideas about my industry propagated by the media and persons seeking to use it as a front for illegal activities. Massage therapy is a beautiful and therapeutic practice that can help everyone.

Throwning down the gauntlet

I, too, am a massage therapy instructor. As an instructor, I don't have to worry too much about individual learning styles. Where the problem lies is with the struggling student. Even if a student is passionate about their chosen field they may not do well. Identifying their learning style and showing them how to study for themselves has been vastly effective.

I have come across several students who felt they were "stupid" because they didn't understand how to they learned. Once I help them identify their style it is up to them to progress. The responsibility is still in their… >>>
