In this section, we stressed the importance of keeping up to date information. When giving information to a potential student, we must give the most recent up to date information. The best way to ensure we have this is to attend regular trainings, look for updates at least monthly, and be aware of our industry.

It is imperative to have more than a basic knowledge of the departments, resources, and anything else that could help a student succeed. It is the law to be ethical. If something is said to a student, there should be a policy, procedure, or statistics to back up the stattement.

I have learned it is imperative to know my school's policies. Once comfortable with the policies, a check list to ensure compliance is a must.

Hi everyone! I have learned to adhere to the "be careful what you say" rule. In the admissions process, we must choose our words wisely. It is not okay to make false promises or be misleading. Open honesty is the best approach. Also, being organized not only looks good, but can assist with time management. It is not productive to continuously look up statutes when they can be easily organized in a binder with tabs.
