Providing a clear path through objectives, modules, and discussions will help students successfully pass the course. Make your content engaging for your students to keep them interested in the learning materials.

Organize and covey in a very detailed fashion what you need and want from your students,  How you present and provide information will determine if the students are learning based on grades and feedback.

Asynchronous classes run on a relaxed schedule, the students can access materials on their own time at different locations and hours.  Synchronous learning is done on real time with instructors and students attending together from different locations.  The main objective is to have all information out there for students and having open communication at all times.

Multiple evaluations are needed to change an online course.

Providing feedback to students will help them understand why you graded that way.  A rubic is such a powerful tool for students and instructors. It makes everything clear as day as what you want and what they need to do.

Scaffolding is prior knowledge the students have and this helps them with e-learning.  Provide a well thought out syllabus with plenty of detail of the class, expectations and even the technology we have to have.

Consistency is key. You want your students to be familiar with your modules, assessments and quizzes. This will help them feel more confident in completing the course.

Help students through the e-learning process. Some may be disruptive, procrastinate or even fell alienated.  Work through each individual situation with poise.

You need to recognize what type of learning traits of each student. Are the avoidant, dependent, or competitive? Reach our to your students and help them in the individual learning style the have adapted too.  Make sure you choose the correct type synchronous or achromous style when forming a discussion.

It is very important in an online learning setting to make you students be know as an indivudaul.  Who are they, why are they here, what are some goals, hobbies and interests.  Really familiraze yourself with each student showing them they are somebody and you are here for them.
