Activity

Jennifer, it sounds as if you share the exact same concern as another person in the Forum. Can you provide more detail so that we can help you?
My guess is the student in front of you appreciates the dedicated attention. Is this your experience, too?
That's great, Joe! It's always nice to know the extra effort you put into connecting with another person on the phone is appreciated.
Very well said, Lynn! Yes, you need both managemement and leadreship skills to be most successful!
Very creative approach, Bernard! It certainly needs to stand out from the clutter of all the other calls the prospective student is receiving - especially those from web leads.
Very nice approach, Brenda. People can certainly feel the energy through the phone, can't they?
Oh yes! It can be tough to focus on the call with so much going on around you. The awareness that the caller may feel like they are wasting their time is important. It may help to keep this in mind next time the urge to multi-task or deal with others in front of you comes up. We certainly are all guilty of this one! Thanks for sharing, Brenda and continued success!
These are great approaches Brenda however there probably are some prospective students that can't make it to campus, right? In these cases, have you considered full engagement interviews over the phone and web? Some of the schools we work with in the online environment and those where students don't prefer an on-campus visit right away use this technique with great success. Of course you want them on campus, yet sometimes this 1/2 step goes a long way to motivating them to put the effort into showing up.
This is wonderful insight, Brenda. Sometimes we get so excited about our school we can't wait to get the word out. Also you mention customization. This is another important component of effective voicemails.
Excellent point, Leslie. Understanding each person's motivation and building trust are essential elements to great leadership.
