Aaron, Thanks for your post! The Past, Present, Future technique is a great way to help the prospective student in decision making. It also provides you with a great deal of information about them! Dr. Jean Norris
Shawn, This sounds like a great way to start building rapport with the prospective student. Great job! Dr. Jean Norris
Rob, This sounds like a great technique! Thank you for posting! Dr. Jean Norris
Thank you for sharing, Shawn! What do you think you can do to alleviate your nervousness in these situations? Dr. Jean Norris
Thanks for sharing, Rob! It sounds like you found a solution that takes into account the feelings of both the prospective students and the callers. Great job! Dr. Jean Norris
Thanks for sharing, Shawn! How do your students usually respond when you excuse yourself to take a call? Dr. Jean Norris
Thanks, Shawn! It's great that the size of your campus allows you to be available to answer calls. Keeping a call log is a great start to putting a process in place. It will allow you to analyze trends and identify any areas of breakdown in your admissions methods. Dr. Jean Norris
Daulphine, Thank you for your post! I'm a big advocate of modeling positive body language. When doing this, do you find that students tend to follow and adapt their body language to match yours? Dr. Jean Norris
Thanks for your post, Daulphine! Face to face communication certainly makes understanding the other person much easier. It demonstrates great self-awareness that you realize the areas in which you need work. With continued practice, you'll achieve the same comfort with telephone conversations as you do with face to face! Dr. Jean Norris
