Integrity and respect are critical, for the materials, the students, the institution and the subject being taught.

Intuition and reading the room is very important to effectively teaching to each and every student.

Having a class with 20 students isn't one class with 20 students, it's 20 classes with 1 student.

By getting under the basic who, what, when, where and whys, the students are about to interpret and appreciate based upon their individual understandings.  Further, by demonstrating how in the real world something that is being taught is applicable there becomes an appreciation for the topic/subject and material.
