Student empowerment involves building confidence and encouraging participation. I will apply this by using real-world examples and giving supportive feedback.

Student empowerment comes from building confidence, giving students a voice, and making learning relevant. I will apply this by encouraging participation and giving feedback.

Being an effective instructor not only requires content expertise, but also the ability to connect with each student, more importantly, to have the student believe in themselves and in that connection with you.

If the students feel they have a "say" or some control in their learning, success improves.

Without being condescending or imperialistic, demonstrate your expertise in the field and your excitement to have them join you.

Don't use the same method and style of teaching every time. Adjust and evaluate what you are doing each time you teach a class.

It is important to stay out of the "rut" of teaching, continue to be enthusiastic about the subject matter, and convey that excitement while teaching.

To fully understand your students, you must make an effort to get to know them and gain insight on their motivation and personalities to better adapt your teaching to be the best for that particular group of students.

Constant reevaluation of your course to make sure it is best suited for your students, improving is the goal. It is best to use qualitative and quantitative data to make this assessment.

It is a multifaceted approach to create a successful course. From rubrics detailing exactly what the expectations are to providing meaningful feedback. Missing any of these components can greatly reduce the success of your students.
