Know that we have an impact on the students for good or for bad. Choose to have a positive impact.

Using a variety of styles to present information captures more of the class. Being mindful as the instructor to patterns in student performance and helping them cultivate learning is part of the job.

We have the most clear understanding in our native tongue. Students should be afforded subject matter in that manner to reenforce and clarify things possibly missed in lecture.

It is one thing to know the definitions proposed to us about race and ethnicity. It is another to accept individuals for who they are where they are without bias but with interest and encouragement. 

The focus on inclusion in our classrooms allows for a more connected and fulfilling experience for students. Having the flexibility to shift content to match the individual classes should result in more effective outcomes.
