Very helpful tips on how to structure one's communication.  Like anything, planning is essential along with thoughtful and thorough review of the audience and message.  I always like to draft a message, let it sit for a day or two before I deliver it.  Also, with regards to email communication...I have the pick the phone after three vollies back and forth.  I always find that the two parties are not providing the appropriate context for the conversation to be communicated effectively.

This is my first post related to this communications course.  The only initial thougtht I have is that communication is a skill that I have worked on my whole life/career.  One can always get better at it.

This has become a very significant issue especially in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  We encourage our personnel to stick to the facts, good, bad indifferent.  We can't take the chance of over representing any of our programs or their outcomes.

I agree with this.  I think as a leader one needs to focus on their colleagues and employees.  I believe that if we explain why we do things as leaders, it really helps everyone within an organization to better understand mission, vision and values.  How many times do leaders/managers just tell employees what to do without explaining why its important or it's rationale.  I think it would be a great course for leaders/managers to take part in.

I think this is a really important concept to demonstrate what a person will be exposed to in a post-secondary educational envronment.  For programs that have opportunities to show experiential learning or hands on training in progress social media is a great tool.  I am curious as to what others are doing for courses that require a more foundational level of learning?  For example, medical or automotive terminology.  We are alway trying to improve ad

Totally agree.  Just like eating food, small bites are usually easier to digest than larger ones.
