About me

My name is Joseph Bargdill.  I have been teaching at a media college for the last decade.  Currently my career has taken more of an academic turn rather than being in the field.  I enjoy teaching others the very career I fell in love with 20 years ago.  My education continues and I wish to keep up-to-date in the field with many client productions that I take my students out on the job.  They are put to work and recieve internship hours for such participation.  It is the perfect scenario for me to watch them grow in.

Interests

motion picture, photography, commercial production, and telling stories.

Skills

advanced media skills in software, i.t., advertising & marketing for my college

Activity

We seperate our classes to include different types of learning.  The first semester is group oriented and the second is individual lessons.  The third class focuses on a mixture of both types of projects.  If you teach one class you may want to look at the following curiculmn.  Adjust your lesson to pick up where the next rotation of courses leaves off.  Adapte the basic building blocks to help the students work better in the next level 200, or 300 then 400 level course work.

Attending a nonprofit school and working at a for-profit college, I have found it much more difficult to navigate at a nonprofit college.  My experiences in both environments are really similar but the one thing I have found the smaller the college the more open all forms of communication are.  The student becomes more aware of every aspect because the communication is always a micro environment.

Sometimes an instructor may get stuck in a slow streak and not bring their A game.  We must always be aware of our body language and ability to turn away our "customers" students.  We should always practice efficiency and de-stress as many situations as we can in our lives.  They student body views the instructor as a valuable asset in their growth...lets make sure they are correct and the campus we work for, proud to have us as a team member.
