Comment on Sara Almeida's post: Using AI for feedback is like having a second person check their work.  I enjoy using AI for feedback and then making it more focused and ensure accuracy in it myself

Comment on Jamie Thu-hanh Nguyen's post: I agree.  Keeping feedback straight to the point is important.  If it is too long, students are likely to not really read it.

For moving beyond RSI, if AI could automatically provide feedback to the students and then provide a report to instructors, that would be a great for instructors to be able to focus on the students who are struggling more.

Comment on Dr Cullen Bass's post: I definitely agree with this! The students will only benefit from online if they use it appropriately.  When students are on-ground, we can often tell how they are doing.  When they're completing much of the content online, we don't know if they allowed AI to do their critical thinking or if they are truly grasping the material.  It leave us to either reassess it on-ground to be sure or find out when we get their on-ground exam results.

Critical Thinking is the key to students' overall success.  If they utilize online tools appropriately, they can be very helpful. However, MANY students use AI or simply search engines to do the critical thinking for them and they never truly learn the material.

Comment on Nunzio Cracchiolo's post: I agree with you.  Online components, especially with all the AI platforms available, allows students to simply look up how to complete the activity and put in the correct answers with little thought or problem solving.

Comment on Noah Bristol's post: I completely agree with you here.  Some things just require a more hands-on approach.

Consistency definitely helps students by reducing frustration, keeping the format familiar, and making things more easily accessible.

A good syllabus should both let the students know what they will learn and how to know they have learned it.

The big take away is that the most important part of a successful class is the preparation beforehand.  Being professional includes being prepared.
