When teaching independent vs dependent learners they will do better in certain assignments compared to others

In this module it showed the difference between asynchronous and synchronous.

Online teaching can be as effective as in person teaching as long as the instructors establishes a presence 

I have learned a lot about the syllabus and why modules are important to student learning 

I learned that usual humans are only really able to consume information 5-7 things at a time and the typical attention span for the average person is usually 15-18 minutes. Typically delivery is very important in order to gain everyone  attention to make them more involved in the presentation no matter what method you decide to use to deliver information to the students. 

I learned that it is important to establish expectations on the first day of class so students are aware of them are able to follow them, but I also learned it is important to establish a very calm and inviting environment so students are more comfortable which will in turn help engagement in class that will help with learning. 

I learned that not only is it important to arrive earlier to class and ensure that everything is prepared properly but to also set a time some prep time at home and create a check list to help you remind yourself the most important topics that needed to be covered.  

I learned that when you practice professionalism, students have an easier time viewing you as a leader and as a reliable resource if there were to ever be a situation where the instructor is needed. I learned that professionalism is a way that helps build mutual respect between teacher and student and sets the tone of what is to be expected.
