Activity

In this module, I  learned how to keep student actively engaged in the e-learning environment and how communication and accountability are keep components to student retention.

Learning the difference between asynchronous and synchronous discussions were very valuable and how to provide feedback for each was very helpful and will be utilized in my teaching strategy.

I learn how important it is establishing a rapport with my students and be mindful of their geographical location and time zones.

I learned specific details that go into teaching a course online. The institution provided protocol that must be followed to give the e-learner a positive learning experience. I plan to go over all the necessary requirements needed to make the student successful.

This section of the course refreshed my memory on various learning styles and how to incorporate it into lecture. In doing this, I will use various techniques, in addition to demonstrating the objective, have students practice it, and once comfortable have student(s) explain what was demonstrated and provide addition feedback where needed.

I learned that I can do and apply various icebreakers on the first day of class to put students at ease and help me remember new student's name and other information about them. In turn, I will also share common information about myself to establish a foundation for everyone.

Class prep is a needed weekly if not daily. Moving forward, I will prep materials and review course content on a continuous base to incorporate current events that are applicable to students outcomes.

As a leader in the class, I aim to emulate professional communication and practice of previous professors and instructors of my past. I will do this by arriving early to set up the class for the day and making myself available to answer any questions students may regarding any assignments they don't understand or staying a few minutes after class to address any concerns they may have.
