This lesson highlighted two great reminders:  1) Students, like water, will take the path of least resistance....and 2) Keep your gradebook up to date.

I learned this important advice:  "As you select your instructional content, you need to focus on your students' ability to complete the assigned work."

Learning is like: "Trying to take a drink out of a fire hose."  Students need to get a drink, not being fearful of too much information intimidating them or more than can be processed at their pace.

Teaching is not the priority, instead student learning is the priority.

Students can benefit from "meditation before an exam to manage test-taking anxiety, deep breathing for emotional regulation, and daily gratitude check-ins."

I love these words from our lesson:  "Zest is living a life as an adventure, feeling alive and activated."

"We need to be a part of something bigger than ourselves."

Aristotle said:  "Virtues are developed habits that can be attained through learning."

Metacognition is to think about your own thinking and to do so with the intention of gaining insights.

We should try to look for evidence of a student's thought process, rather that to see an end product.
