Metacognition is to think about your own thinking and to do so with the intention of gaining insights. 

We should try to look for evidence of a student's thought process, rather that to see an end product.  

When we design lessons, we must build in anticipated failures, which can become productive for learning. 

Prediction is a powerful literacy tool that can improve comprehension. 

You probably know more about a subject than your students, but what you are trying to do is share with them what you know in a way that they can understand and at a pace they can learn. 

Monitoring gives you insight in the the environment of your class, and will enable you to recognize problems before they become more serious problems. 

Make sure you take steps to look out for ways to get quiet students involved, and make sure that you make efforts to ensure that "center stage students" don't take over. 

I can be useful to help students create an image of themselves as a successful employee in their chosen field. 

One of my responsibilities as teacher/class manager, is to make students see the purpose and goals of the course.
