Activity

Provide feedback in timely manner to let students know you are actively there. Have them respond the same.

Establish relationships with the students. This build trust and students feel like they have support.

Even with the knowledge of the content, I have to familiarize myself with content areas that I am not familiar with.

Know that there are different learning style and to make necessary changes so that you can effectively teach and the students will understand.

It is important to plan and prepare for class. Show up early and greet students. Let them see that you are ready for the day. Let them know what is planned for the day.

I learned to be professional and to carry myself so that the students can trust that I know what I am teaching. Also that I need to prepare for the class so that I am aware of what I am teaching for the day. Find ways to keep the students engaged. Change my approach if the interest is not there. Be respectful so that the students will know how to act when they are in a professional setting.

Adults learn better when the information is clear and are able to relate the information to real life. You have to be enthusiastic about what is being taught and be approachable. This will allow the student to be more confident and accept what is being taught.
