I created a course map for one of my classes last year (I was hired right before the semseter began and didn't have time to make a detailed plan for every course) using the ABCD approach, and I loved it. It helped me develop lessons, lecture, assignments, assessments, and discussions. I think that was the most fleshed out course I had and the energy and pace of the course confirmed that more planning beforehand = better success throughout the semester. I want to make detailed course maps for all of my classes over the summer in preparation for Fall 2022. … >>>

Being genuine and interested in the subject is contagious. Showing up on time, being prepared, delivering the content in a way that conveys "this is important; this matters" can make all the difference in whether students buy in. I want to improve the cadence of my face to face classes and promote interaction among the students. Covid made that difficult, but I can find creative ways to work in spite of those restrictions.

I want to utilize more technology, especially games or interactive elements, in my classroom/online classes. Most of my students are fully online, and I want to engage them without drowning them in busy work. A platform like Nearpod might be exactly what I need. I also love the idea of the workplace simulation. I'm going to think about how to simulate a full remote job.

I love the "I Do, We Do, You Do" approach. Pairing that with a "Need to Know, Nice to Know, Nuts to Know" division of resources would be really helpful for students, especially those who really seek out enrichment or love going above and beyond in class.

I will incorporate more formative assessments in my classes next semester, and I want to incorporate IRCs into some of my classes.

I love the employability skills rubrics. I'm going to use those in several of my classes going forward.
