Staying up to date is super important, it helps us keep track of how things work around the university and provide better service. I also learned about the difference between licensing and accreditation, and which documents we should be checking in the Notebook.

It’s important to stay informed about what’s happening at my school so I can better support students. This helped me see how learning the catalog and knowing the school inside and out helps me guide students with confidence.

It’s important to clearly elaborate and explain all proper paperwork that students have to complete. Using the information I've learned I can create a small simple checklist of materials and paperwork to inform students about and keep them in the know of what is missing and completed.

I’m focused on getting better as an admissions staff member by giving prospective students clear and accurate information, keeping the catalog on hand, and communicating honestly and respectfully to prospective students.

This section gives many examples of what a FERPA situation can be about including needing permission from students which appear in a Youtube video recorded by a teacher, it also shows that the school can give out personal information to government agencies if the reasoning and need for such information is necessary. It also shows that even if a student wishes to opt out of press release and direct information they are still not allowed to be anonymous in distance learning.

While FERPA provides lots of help to students it also helps institutions in cases where student wish to get their records but might have unpaid dues and holds which need to be settled before they can get detailed transcripts. It also allows schools to redact information that might involve other students. While still maintaining proper protocol for staff and faculty. 

FERPA compliance makes sure that schools maintain and protect the privacy of students direct information. It also limits the information schools can use to basic details like names and majors. But it also gives student the option to opt out of this revoking the schools permission to use their information

FERPA is a federal law that protects the privacy of students educational records. It gives students and parents the right to access and control their records. The standards FERPA sets helps give students safety from schools using their records in malicious ways, it also have several ways of punishing school who might break these rules.
