Activity

Active learning keeps students engaged in the lesson. Welding in the lab is much more exciting that listening to an instructor.

I learned that students with disabilities may need more time to help them with school work.

I have learned that the simpler and clearer you can keep things the better. Be very black and white.

Group learning is a great way for students to break out of there comfort zone and interact with others. It helps them to develop those team skills they need in life. I am constantly monitoring my students and interacting with them to see how the group is doing and if I feel like we are ok to move forward or spend more time on things we may not understand yet.

As a student, I have never liked being a class that is boring. Where the instructor just sits at his or her desk and reads from the text aloud. So I make it a point to make my class exciting! I'm up moving around, asking questions, engaging with the students. I want my class to be one the students want to go to.

There are so many ways to test! We need to figure out what works best for us and what we hope to gain in testing.

I learned that active learning keeps the students engaged in the learning and also just how important assessment is.

I love this method. It engages the students in the lecture and keeps them busy so as not to lose interest.

Using all the learning styles to reach 100 percent of the class is key.

The mini lectures seem to be very effective. Attention spans are short so short breaks and short lectures work great. As far as demonstration goes sometimes keeping it as simple as possible is this best here. If they want more they can get it after the demo.
