It is very common for our students to open up to us. I feel that it is also important to have resources available for the student when the instructor feels that they are "in over their head".  It is OK to listen, but we have to be careful when it comes to giving advice.  Our school has student services team that is equipped with the proper information for these scenarios.  We also offer 2-3 free visits to a local psychologist per student per "issue" if the student is willing to accept the offer.

I just finished ED106 and found it to be very interesting.  It has given me things to look for when a student is having difficulty with the material.

I agree.  This course genuinly excited me to start my teaching career.

I agree wit your posting.  I think that providing a reliable exam that is clear with no extra verbiage is key!

I am finding that the content of these courses is very beneficial to the prep for my initial classroom experience.

I will be starting in february! I am very nervous and excited.  I think that the lab portions of my curriculum will be easier for me to teach than the lecture, based on my vast hands-on experience.  I plan to try multiple teaching styles to see what works best for me!  Good luck to you James!
