Activity

I would like to encourage my students to take a TC personality test to understand their learning. I may incorporate this in the personality section of my class.

Recognizing the abilities of our students should help guide our instruction and being open-minded to adjustments directly relates to success.

We need to remember that though one personally type may be dominant, many may be present. Also, though there are positives for each type, there are challenges as well. Recognizing the challenges in ourselves and helping our students do the same will equate in success for the student.

Personality styles create the learner and the teacher. Understanding one another creates an environment of learning because we understand each other. Though we may not always know the personality style of each learner right off the bat, we can create material that will prompt learning in each personality style.

The type of student really does lead what is necessary for their success, not only for them but for the instructor. I have had intimidating students and reminding them about the grading rubric and school policies allows me to stand my ground. I am grateful for that. I am great at record keeping so I am sure to have backup when needed to support my students.

Different learning styles create a need for focused engagement. Crafting discussion and feedback to each individual and their specific needs encourages participation.

The more we connect with our students, the more motivated they will be. It will allow us to notice when extra help is needed and we are creating a relationship that supports them when they feel the need to reach out. Also, when we establish our credibility, we are respected in a way that will create more engagement and trust.

It's important to be aware of how the CMS works and how to maneuver throughout. We also should realize that we all teach differently and finding our own technique which complements the scope of the course will add to the student's experience and success.

This section dove deeper into collaborative and problem-based learning and gave a lot of good ideas on how to incorporate this type of active learning in the classroom.

This section provided a lot of good ideas for incorporating active learning into the classroom. I specifically liked the cartoon/comic strip/storytelling idea.
