One thing I learned is that we don't have a full-time retention specialist focused on the students and retaining them.
The public education system has ill prepared the students for a fast-paced learning environment, and the lack of motivation to do the work as opposed to socialize. I believe the public education system and society norms have made younger generations focused more on social than on academic achievements. Maybe, we could work more toward personal goals of students in the classroom to help create positive motivation.
