Activity

Communicate with the dual credit school that is linked with my class to be more cohesive with their program.

Creating a printed or online handout I can give to students with direct steps they can take towards reaching their pathway goal.

There is a teacher benefit to vertical alignment. I never thought about it from that persepctive.

I knew to build my lesson scaffolding with terminology at the forefront but never really thought about why. I have a better understanding now of why using this instructional strategy helps students to build a foundation of learning that can allow them to develop more independence.

Meet with students one on one before they turn in big projects so we can go over the rubric and they can walk me through what level they think they earned and we can discuss what is accurate and what sort of alterations should be made to reach full satisfaction in exemplary scores.

Breaking down the progress aspect for students to see all the small steps they've taken over time and use a method of data tracking for students to pin point what they've accomplished.

Expand on my SMART goals and have check ins with students more frequently.

I plan to have checkins with my students every week about their semester smart goals. They will track their progress towards completion each week in a journal and assess what changes need to be made thoruhgout the term and semester.

To think for specifically on areas for improvement within certain job fields. For instance, this unit has inspired me to think further on how to use my grant money to further the education of students in health care and guide them towards nursing programs. I want to collaborate with local community college nursing programs to better spend these funds.

This made me think of more ways to connect my students with our college success foundation and made me think to reach out to them to help organize specific field trips for my students in the health care field since I teach family health.
