The module discusses the value of active learning rather than just offering answers. It honors that there is often more than one right answer and encourages collaboration.

The module encourages us to introduce active learning opportunities and to use rubrics for grading consistency and clarity. 

This module reminds us that there are many different types of learning, traditional and non-traditional, and often it is a blend of many different methods and techniques that is best. We need to be open to new ideas and keep our students' best interests in mind. 

This module discusses the different ways we communicate within the classroom. It emphasizes email communication and the use of online tools to ensure engagement and personalize the course. Students should know their instructor is there for them.  

This module stresses the importance of student engagement, which is achieved through active engagement with the material, not just passive listening. The module offers many ways to engage students and explains the value of these assignments.   

I came across some excellent tips for classroom management and ways to support our students. I also saw some great ideas on organization for the instructor.  

This module reminds us that discussions can be the heart of the class and learning but only if they are monitored and supported properly.

I have taught online for a while now, so combining my experience and the knowledge I gained in this module, my biggest takeaway is creating space for students to actively engage in the class and with their classmates and to be approachable. Students need to be comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and sharing their ideas.

I learned the primary expectations of the instructor and what we need to know to prepare for each course. I also learned about the platform's features that instructors are expected to master.
