About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Gayle, I like to use games in my review as well. The students really get excited about the games and the competition that goes with it plus they do well on the tests after the gaming reviews. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Bridgette, I use them in my class as well. Over the years I have been researching multiple intelligences and how they apply to learning. I have developed an assessment of the intelligences that gives the three dominant intelligences through which a person processes new information. With a data base of over 50,000 individuals I feel I have a very valid way of identifying and supporting the learning of students. Always good to hear about how other instructors use multiple intelligences as learning tools. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Jeremy, This approach is what makes the course content relevant and have application. You are bringing current situations to the classroom for student information and reaction. This makes the course engaging for the students. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Richard, Keep up the good work, Mr. Bunny. I like being around instructors like you because you are excited about your field and having the opportunity to share your knowledge and skills with others. Even the students that don't value all that you are sharing have to admit that you have passion for your subject and that you are a role model for them. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Rick, Good strategies to use in more your instructional delivery more engaging and relevant. Thanks for sharing these ideas with us. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Stacy, This approach to a new class is comprehensive and informative. This sets the tone for the sessions to come and you are starting with a well informed group of students. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Richard, Good point and one that needs to be remembered as preparation is being made to start a new class. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Johan, Right you are and it is important to set the stage for the course with this information. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Vincent, This is a very good way to give you insight into how you present and interact with students. You can use this as integral part of your professional development. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Bridgette, I like your creative and engaging way of teaching the GI tract. You are helping your students to see segments and then whole picture of the content they are learning. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
