About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Terry, Great! I wish you much continued success as an educator and learning leader. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Veronika, Good approach. You are providing a number of different learning opportunities for your students. This way they will be able to internalize the needed content throughout the class session. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Vincent, Yes, you will. By offering variety in your instructional delivery you will be reaching the different learning preferences of your students and this will keep them engaged and focused throughout the course. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Sharyn, Right you are. Digging out of a hole is never fun. It is easier to create a positive first impression and build from there. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Martin, Simple concept but a powerful one. A positive first impressions sets the tone for classes to come. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Lovie, What are some ways you help your students stay up with the pace of the class when they have events occurring in their lives? Thanks for you input on this. I know it will be of help to other instructors. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Lance, Good planning on your part. We instructors have to have an A and B list because we never know how A is going to work out and if we don't have a B list then we are left with nothing to share with our students. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Melissa, Always have passion for your content and be motivated to share it with your students. Infuse a big dose of your personality, share a smile and be organized. With these elements in place you will be ready to go and your students will be engaged in the learning process. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
Melissa, All good ways to generate interaction with and among students. This way they are not only learning but also contributing. Gary Dr. Gary Meers
