About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Amber, By being on the same page everyone moves forward with an understanding of what the course expectations are and how to proceed to meet them. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Tawana, This is so important because you are reducing learning distractions and helping the students to see the value of the content you are offering. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Rodney, The goals and objectives must be clear if the students are going to know how to proceed and be successful in the course. The more concise and clear they are the easier they are for the students to understand. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.

Kathryn, Thank you for sharing this strategy with us. I know this will be of value to other instructors as we are always on the look out for additional methods we can use in our classes. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Joseph, Application increases content retention which shows relevancy to students. By having tools available to them such as graphic organizers they start to see how the content can be used and where. This leads as you say to more ROI for the students in their every day lives and this greatly enhances their satisfaction with their education. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Joseph, Great introduction to your class. You are setting the stage for engagement that I know will last the entire course. Thanks for sharing your strategies with us. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Joseph, I like the way you explain how instructors need to approach the classroom and the variety of students they encounter within it. This is what makes teaching both challenging and fun. We get to be creative, work with learners, share our career experiences and get paid for it. This is a win win situation. We are helping to educate the next generation of individuals entering our field so we are going to have a legacy of impact if we do our job well. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
