About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Kathy, I love hearing stories like this because it shows that through dedication, effort and professionalism content can be delivered to students no matter how unusual the circumstances may be. Keep up the good work. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sara, Yes, it does. It sets the tone for how the course will proceed. A sloppy ill prepared classroom or lab lets the students know that the instructional process may be slip shod as well. This should never happen and we don't want to students to think such about our courses. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Sara, Two very important words in the world of teaching. By having passion for the field and enthusiasm about sharing the content the instructor is set up to be a very valuable learning leader. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.

Katherine, First your attitude about how to approach the classroom says a lot about the success you are going to enjoy as a teacher. You obviously like people and sharing with them in a learning environment. Then building on that you are striving to develop new and creative ways to offer content to your students. This is what professional development should be about. I wish you continued teaching success for many years to come. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Carlos, I think you are going to really like the results you get with re-organizing your syllabus. A clear and concise syllabus sets the tone for a positive and supportive class to come. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Brent, All of the elements go together to demonstrate a professional approach being an educator. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Katherine, Good advice for all instructors to heed. We are always on stage and being observed by our students in many different settings. So we need to remember this as we move about in our lives. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
