About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Lisa, I agree. Our passion for our field and our enthusiasm for teaching spreads throughout the class. If we do not have both then a feeling of dis-interest will spread throughout the class as well. Excitement is catching, think flash mob for learning! Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Amanda, From the description of how you have worked with your patients I am sure you are going to be able to transition your passion and enthusiasm to your students. Welcome to teaching and I wish you much success! Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Lisa, It is great when instructors have had such role models from which they can take professionalism. You are so fortunate because you know what you need to model for your students. I wish you continued teaching success. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.

Irwin, Thank you for sharing the application and benefits of using graphic organizers with us. They serve so many different purposes in helping students to stay in the content and see how it is relevant to their future. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Jeanine, This is one of my favorite parts of my program. When you send students out the get excited because they are seeing the value of the content you are sharing with them. In addition, they start to see themselves in that field and this increases their motivation to keep moving their education forward. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Irwin, Thank you for your analysis and insight. You are right on with your recommendation because in the world of education we deal with some many learners with diverse backgrounds. The more variety we offer in our delivery the greater the chances we will be able to get them engaged and focused on acquiring the required content. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Jeanine, Thank you for sharing this example with us. Your comments help to illustrate the value behind having this information and then offering instruction in different ways and targeting the different learning preferences of students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
