About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Robert, Colleagues are such a valuable resource and we need to access them as frequently as we can. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Donna, I am excited for your growth as an educator. You are making a impact on the lives of your students so the more skills and expertise you have to work with as you plan your instruction the more effective you will be. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Jarrod, The more you can "connect the dots" for your students between the content of your course and the real world the better. By doing so you are increasing the value of the course for the students because you are helping them to move closer to their career goals. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Ana, Good way to "read" your students and then respond to what you have learned through your observations. This is how professional growth is achieved and as a result your effectiveness will increase as you interact with your students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Tracey, With experience will come an understanding of how you are most effective in reaching your students. So keep up the good work and continued growth. The pay off will be worth it to both you and your students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Penelope, All three of these professional development activities will expand your expertise. The more you know the more options you have as you plan your instruction. I wish you continued teaching success. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.

Ralph, You have addressed a critical needs for instructors. Without confidence it is tough to be the learning leader so the more confidence that can be developed early on in a person's teaching career the better. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Reanna, I find this as well with my classes. Certain classes need this approach and others require a different way of using the different deliveries of instruction to get them engaged. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Ralph, Like this approach because you are showing your students both application and relevancy in relation to the course content. Keep up the sharing! Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
