I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Activity

Vickie, I use a number of different games for review with my students and they always have a good time plus are amazed at how much they have learned. Helps them also with building their confidence as they get ready for an upcoming test. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Karlsen, This is a very important part of being an educator. You are developing alternatives and different venues through which you provide learning opportunities. This is how you get students engaged and moving toward their career goals. Keep up the good efforts as they making a real difference in the lives of your students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Vickie, This is something that I believe in strongly since I am seeing many students in my classes that do not care about any of the things related to professionalism. They have for the most part a sense of entitlement thus do not need to earn the respect of their employers or anyone else. I strive to get them to see the value of presenting a professional image as it will result in career growth which they are striving to have. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Claudia, Yes it is plus it makes teaching a lot more fun. Student interaction is one of the rewards I get from being a teacher and their learning leader. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, What do you use as the foundation for setting your course goals? Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Claudia, Yes, it is. This is how passion and enthusiasm can continue to be a part of each instructors delivery. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Joel, They need to see this connection. By doing so they see the value of the content and skills being acquired and how all of this new knowledge impacts their career development. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
matthew, You need to own the classroom or lab and that is what you are doing with your movement. Also moving around helps to keep the students engaged as you have experienced. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Shelly, This is a good point because some where along their educational journey they have to internalize what they are learning and how it applies to their future. When they do this they start to see the ROI in being in school and that increases their motivation level. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Robert, Like the way you are teaching these concepts to your students. Your method gets them comfortable because they can see and understand the segments. They are not overwhelmed so they can focus on each step and acquire the knowledge and skills needed and then move to the next step. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
