About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Matthew, Right you are. This is why we need to get ongoing feedback from our students so we can make adjustments as needed to keep our course on target and our students moving forward in their learning. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Matthew, These stories help to capture the interest of the students as well as increase the value of the course to the students. The more examples you can share of application and relevance the better. These stories help to do that. Keep on sharing! Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Brandon, Good point and one that every instructor needs to remember as he or she prepares for classes. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Brandon, This is how professional improvement will occur as you expand your expertise as an educator. Always seek additional ways to be more effective in your interaction with students and you will receive feedback that supports your efforts with students. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Matthew, I like to have this information as well for the reason you state. It gives me a connecting point with the students when I know their reason and how they see themselves applying the content in their careers. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Conchi, Thank you for the kind words. I wish you continued teaching success and may you impact the lives of students for years to come. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
Conchi, I use them a lot as well. They really get students ramped up and excited to use what they have been learning. We have teams and they get competitive very quickly. The end result is that they have had fun and have figured out that they really did learn a lot. Gary Gary Meers, Ed.D.
