About me

I am an Education Advisor/Consultant for MaxKnowledge. I write courses that assist in the professional development of career college instructors. These courses range in content from the introductory level to advanced instructional development. I started my teaching career as an instructional technology teacher on the high school level, completed graduate school and then moved into higher education. I spent many years in the area of teacher training at the University of Nebraska. While at the University of Nebraska I stared working with career college instructors to improve their instructional delivery skills. As a result of these experiences I have been a consultant to career colleges throughout the United States and a number of foreign countries.

Hi Denise, This is what makes your course content relevant and gives students insight into application of concepts. They see the value of the theory and book content to their careers. Gary
Hi Warren, Well said. Good example to share with us. I like the way you craft your words about how we need to perform as instructors and communicators of knowledge and skill. Gary
Hi Janae, Right on with your comments about how important a well developed syllabus is to course success. Gary
Hi Douglas, I like your supportive and encouraging approach to your classroom. You have an outstanding set of credentials that give you knowledge and expertise to be an effective instructor while demonstrating the human side of teaching. This is a great combination for your students. Wish other instructors would take this approach. Gary
Hi Andrew, Good way to expand your instructional delivery through the use of technology. Work with your students and get their input on different types of technology that could be used in your course. They will be able to give you some options that you might want to explore. Gary
Hi Lynette, What are some ways you would bring technology to your classroom? Thanks for your input on this because I know other instructors are looking for ideas in this area as well. Gary
Hi Melissa, Good growth ideas on your part. By constantly looking for new and expanded ways to effectively communicate your content to your students you will enjoy increased retention of content by your students. Gary

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for sharing this strategy with us. I know this will be of benefit to other instructors looking for ways to involve their students in discussion and problem solving activities. Gary
Hi David, Good strategy. This method reduces student frustration and expands their understanding of course polices, requirements and expectations. This gets them started on understanding what it is that they have to do in the course to be successful. Gary
